Hey everyone!
A few months ago Casey discovered a new app on the app store that he thought would be interesting to try from a musicians perspective. This app is called Periscope, and what it has been able to do for us in the past few months is truly incredible! What a great find!
Periscope is a live broadcasting app that allows you to view what is happening in peoples lives at that very moment in time and from all around the world! Naturally, we thought that using the app to broadcast live shows was a perfect way to gain fans from anywhere around the world. What we imagined might happen is exactly what came to fruition. We slowly started gaining a fan base, but it feels more like a big family. Periscope is not a very well-known app as of the moment and we feel like we stumbled upon a triple rainbow! We get the chance to really get to know our friends/fans and they get the equal chance to get to know us! It's such a beautiful exchange of communication and we couldn't feel more blessed to have found such a cool outlet!
So far we have garnered attention from many people from around the world, INCLUDING AARON PAUL FROM BREAKING BAD! This is how amazing this app is. Aaron Paul somehow randomly ended up in our broadcast around 2am, and invited all of his 150k followers. Soon, a broadcast that was filled with 40 people was now to be filled by the end of it all with upwards of 6000! Its amazing that all of this happened within the course of minutes on an app that not many people know about, and we happened to play the biggest show of our lives that night in my living room at 2am. Other people who were watching us live included Alex Butler of My Carolina Today, John Legere the CEO of T-Mobile, and Kayvon Beykpour the founder of Periscope!
I hope that some of you reading this right now remember that night, because while it was special for us it was also a very special night for a lot of our friends and fans who really truly believe in our music. Periscope is showing us just how deep the connection between musicians and their fans can be. It sounds so cliche but it's true, our music would not mean half as much if it weren't for the people who love it and love us.
If you don't have Periscope you should definitely consider checking it out!
